wrote an article on homemade dowels for rings and high bar. Now, of
course, dowels are sewn right into
the grips, and for uneven bars, too!
Mitsuo Tsukahara (JPN) won the
men’s title over teammate Shun
Fujimoto. In 1976, Tsukahara would
place third, while Fujimoto would
become a hero for helping Japan
win the team gold while competing
on a broken leg.
