Dixon on floor (impeccable layout full-out mount)
and Illinois’ Daniel Ribeiro on pommel horse (full
kehre, full stockli).
Ishino was the only top-six finisher who didn’t
make the 2010 world championships team. Chris
Cameron, who tied for 15th, was chosen based on
his strength on pommel horse and rings.
Next stop is Rotterdam for the top U.S. men.
and Leyva says he is ready to make some noise at
worlds. “Oh, you betcha,” he told IG. “Definitely
top three [in the all-around] and winning high bar
and medaling on p-bars.”
Horton has goals too, but realizes this year is not
as important as the next two. “To be totally honest,
[Kohei] Uchimura is gonna take time to beat,” he
said. “The guy’s incredible. I don’t think I could beat
him right now, but I think I can be second-best in
the world. Of course, it’s gymnastics. And if he
makes a mistake and I’m on fire, who knows what
could happen. I could be world champion. That’s
what I want … I’m always gonna push for it.”
