GOLD MEDAL COUPLE
EVER SINCE meeting in Rapid City, S.D., as cast members of the Disson Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular,
Nastia Liukin, 20, and Evan Lysacek, 24, have become
close friends. Last August, Lysacek flew to Dallas to
watch Liukin compete at the U.S. championships, and
Liukin returned the favor by supporting Lysacek at the
Vancouver Olympics. Of course, there’s no telling
where this relationship is headed, but they sure do
make a cute couple!

International Invitational.

tory at the inaugural
Nadia Comaneci invite.
Izbasa, who tore her right
Achilles’ tendon last
September, told
IG she probably
won’t be ready to com-
pete this year.
While American stars
Nastia Liukin and Shawn
Johnson took advantage of
numerous post-Olympic opportu-
nities, Izbasa told IG she didn’t
have such lucrative choices. “No,
only gymnastics,” she said. She did,
however, get invited to compete on
Romania’s version of Dancing With
the Stars, “but I refused.”
Izbasa, who turns 20 on June 18,
is a woman who knows what she
wants, and right now it is more
competitive gymnastics!
