senior all-around titles at the Antonina Koshel
Cup, held Feb. 10-12 in Minsk. The competition honors Koshel, a member of the gold
medal-winning Soviet team at the 1972
Olympics and currently vice president of the
Belarusian Gymnastics Association.

Taylor Ricci of the host club won the Open
all-around division at the 36th annual North
Shore Invitational, hosted by Flicka Gymnastics Club, Feb. 20-22 in North Vancouver,
B.C., Canada. Last year, Ricci placed 16th in
the Novice division at the Canadian championships, and tied for eighth in the junior division at Elite Canada.
Famous Flicka gymnasts of the past include
1984 Olympian Bonnie Wittmeier and ’00
Olympian Lisa Leveille. Celestina Popa
Toma, a team gold medalist at the ’87 worlds
and a team silver medalist at the ’88 Olympics
for Romania, has been coaching at Flicka
since ’94.

Junior Championships, Moore won the all-around over teammates Mackenzie Caquat-

to (second) and Bridgette Caquatto (third).
Mackenzie finished 10th at the ’08 U.S.
Senior Championships; Bridgette, Mackenzie’s younger sister, finished 21st at the ’08
U.S. juniors.

Third at the 2008 Canadian Championships,
Casey Sandy won the senior all-around title
at Elite Canada, held Feb. 24-26 in Surrey,
British Columbia. The meet served as the second of two phases for Canadian national team
selection. (The ’08 Canadian Championships
served as the first.) Ken Ikeda and Jared
Walls placed second and third, respectively.
